wygląda że zachowała się w dość dobry stanie, ciekawe czy opony są polskie  ciekaw tez jestem co to za motocykle w tle, czy to wszystko naszego nowego kolegi czy też to wszystko warsztat jakiegoś handlarza

dzisiaj rozmawiałem już z naszym nowym kolegą na facebookowym czacie, posiada kilka cennych informacji, między innymi napisał o pewnym mały dystrybutorze naszych SHL w Nowym Yorku, chce odrestaurować swoja SHL i prosi nas o pomoc, jest bardzo zainteresowany tym motocyklem oraz innymi europejskimi motorami, to prawdziwy maniak motocyklowy jak my wszyscy, zarejestrował się już na naszym forum więc za niedługo powinien się odezwać
i kto to pisał że lepiej założyć konto na naszej klasie  (żartuje oczywiście  )

Greetings from the US.
I had a wonderful chat with Bartek via facebook yesterday and he work very hard to make it possible for me to participate and post to this forum.
I learned from Bartek that my model is the M11 Lux with type 32 engine. I shared the serial number which is 28225.
SHL is very beautiful motorcycle. I was attracted to it because of it's simplicity and it's elegant appearance. And especially the Earles type front forks. It strikes me as a motorbike designed for great utility and no pretension.
This motorcycle is currently has a New Jersey state title. It is titled as a model year 1963. My understanding is that there was a small importer in NJ (very near New York City) that imported SHL in the early sixties. I am apparently the third owner. As there was a title transfer for this motorbike made in 1981.
My SHL has approx 1400 original KM. I will check the tires to see what brand they are. I am assuming that with such low miles that the tires would still be the original tires as fitted at the factory.
I purchased the SHL from a small business in my hometown of Philadelphia, PA. who specializes in restoration of classics from all over the world. The photographs in my facebook SHL album were taken by Adam while the bike was still in his shop.
Actually, I have yet to take possession of the motorbike though I have it paid in full. I need to make garage space and work space for this bike first.
The bike is mostly complete. The engine turns over freely. It is missing the rear taillamp and is missing the ignition points oddly. It has a lot of surface rust on the wheel rims, the exhaust muffler, and on outside of gas tank. But there are no broken fins on the cylinder or cylinder head.
If it were not for the age of the internet I probably would not have bought this bike. There are no other known and identified examples in the US. So I must obtain spare parts and technical knowledge from the SHL enthusiasts in the bike's home country of manufacture. Therefore, I was very happy to hear from Bartek and happy for his assistance to allow me to post to your forum.
I would like to restore this motorbike to show condition. Once restored it will only be ridden to keep it fresh. I am very excited to begin the project.

Hello Michael
Are you sure that theres only one SHL in US? Do anyone in US have spare parts to SHL? Your motorbike is very good condition. Its not easy to find M11 in that state
Your motorcycle is almost complete, maybe you have to buy few little parts and thats all
Specialists of M11 model will tell you what is missing. I think that its not necessary to repaint and even re chrome whole bike.
Repair wheels, seat and other part wich need it and thats all Bike looks much more better in orgiginal paint with sores.

I still have some difficulty responding to each of your posts but I read them carefully and appreciate the guidances and support.
I am not positive that my M11 Lux is the only example in the US. And if there was an importer (such as some literature now suggests) then it is
more likely that there would not be just one--- as the costs would be too
great to import just one motorbike. But I have not been able to positively
identify any additonal owners in the US.
I have not been able to find any additonal information on Portnoy Imports who appears to have been the importer into the US at some early time.
